Equinor ASA (EQNR.OS) said Friday that it has agreed to buy Danish energy trading company Danske Commodities for 400 million euros ($467.4 million) as it transitions from an upstream oil-and-gas company to becoming a broad energy company.

Denmark-based Danske Commodities is a short-term electricity trader, is active in short-term gas trading and provides energy-market services.

Equinor said it is building a material industrial position in profitable renewable energy, and expects to invest 15%-20% of its capital expenditure in new energy solutions by 2030.
