Chevron signs LNG SPA with South Korea's GS Caltex

US-based Chevron has signed a long-term LNG sales and purchase agreement to supply South Korea's GS Caltex with LNG from its global portfolio, starting in October this year, the supplier said Thursday.

Details on the length and volume of the deal were not immediately available.

Chevron has an existing LNG SPA with GS Caltex executed in 2009, for the delivery of 500,000 mt/year of LNG, also from Chevron's global portfolio -- including the Gorgon LNG project -- for up to 20 years.

Chevron owns 50% of GS Caltex and is the operator (50%) of the three-train 15 million mt/year Gorgon LNG export plant in Australia. The other shareholders of Gorgon are ExxonMobil (25%) and Shell (25%).
