DJ U.S. Oil-Rig Count Down by 9 in Latest Week

The number of rigs drilling for oil in the U.S. were down by 9 this week to 834, Baker Hughes, a GE company, reported Friday. 

The oil-rig count has generally been rising since June 2016, but has started to fall slightly again since recently peaking at 885 at the end of December 2018. 

The nation's gas rig count was down by two to 193 in the past week, according to oil-field services company Baker Hughes.
