Shale Drillers' Spending Plans to Keep a Lid on Growth
Shale drillers' move to spend within cash flow is likely to be a bigger limiter on Permian production growth this year than pipeline constraints will be, according to Bernstein Research. Producers had to contend with severe crude pipeline bottlenecks and discounted local prices for much of last year as oil output soared. But that's set to ease as more than two million barrels a day worth of pipeline capacity opens this year, Bernstein says.
